Haiti Disaster Relief Effort

The earthquake disaster in Haiti defies description.  Based on the news reports, we are hearing that as many as 200,000 Haitians and visitors have lost their lives in this tragedy.  We have not had any word yet regarding the Grand Orient D'Haiti or of our Masonic Brothers in that country.  We do know that the Grand Lodge was located in Port-au-Prince and is probably destroyed.  Therefore , we are joining with our Brothers world-wide to support their needs in this terrible time.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the disaster relief may do so by sending a check to the Grand Lodge Office, 304 International Circle, Cockeysville, MD 21030.  Checks should be made payable to Masonic Charities of Maryland with the memo field showing Haiti Relief.  Donations made in this manner are considered tax deductible.  We will send the funds that we collect to the Grand Orient D'Haiti as soon as practical.

Fraternally,

Thomas M. Velvin
Grand Master
