*****NEW MEETING TIME IS 7:30 PM*****
If you, or any other Brother needs a ride to or from Lodge, give one of the Officers a call. We will be glad to make arrangements to get you to the Lodge and home again.
Our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 16th, 2003 at Maple run Golf Course in Thurmont. Tom Johann is the chairman along with help from David Duffey, Lou Falconer and Tommy Maher. If you would like to help with this event, contact one of them for details. Our first attempt at a Golf Tournament turned out pretty well, and we hope this years will be even better. There is a form attached for you to sign up and/ or sponsor a hole.
Jim Hamilton is the chairman of the beef raffle. Working with Jim is Jim O’Brien. This is a great fund raiser and with the help of each of us, it can be more successful than last year. By the way, last years raffle was won by none other than our Grand Inspector, Russell Gosnell.
The building repairs are now complete. Everything seems to be fine. We will be discussing other building needs at lodge meetings, so plan now to attend.
Brothers Paul Colantuno and Michael Yokay are waiting to get their 3rd degree. Brother Michael Santangelo received the 2nd degree on March 5th . Brother Charles Tobery received the 1st degree on February 5th , and Brother Cobey Crow received his 1st degree on March 19th. Brother Nuri Sulek is still working on the 1st degree catechism.
I have learned that the American Red Cross is in
need of blood donors. I would like to see if we have enough Brothers willing and
able to donate blood to make this a worthwhile cause. If there is enough
interest, we will let everyone know the location and time for the event. If you
are interested please let one of the officers know. We need at least 60 people
signed up to make it a success.
I understand that it is often difficult to attend lodge at times. That is why we have voted in the new starting time of 7:30 PM. It should make it easier for you to get home a little earlier. The lodge is involved in a lot of new and rewarding ventures. I ask that each of you try to attend as many lodge meetings as you can over the next year. We need the support of every member and I look forward to seeing and talking to each of you. We have a large number of new members who have never had the pleasure of meeting and talking with the Brothers who have made this lodge what it is today. You have a lot you can teach us and you will find us willing to listen and learn.
