From the East
The Worshipful, Master, Wardens and Brethren would like to welcome you
to our Website. We were
established in 1896 under a Charter from the Grand Lodge of Maryland and
Grand Master Shyrock, this Blue Lodge was named in honor of the
bloodiest single day in American military history.
Where on September 17th 1862 the neighboring battlefield was
witness to more than 23,000 causalities from both North and South and
Freemasonry.
Our Lodge stands as a tribute to those Brothers who gave their last full
measure of devotion to their cause.
Our first Worshipful Master, Frisby Doub grew up on that
Battlefield and knew the horrors that war had brought to the tranquil
landscape of western Maryland.
