John R. Biggs, Jr. - 121 - 134

Most Worshipful Grand Master

Bro. Biggs has a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Technology, with a minor in management. He and his wife Pat have two boys, two grandsons and a grand daughter.

After 25 years of service, he retired from the Maryland State Police, where he held the rank of 1st. Lieutenant. Following this career, he spent 15 years as a Sr. Program Manager for Motorola, Inc., managing the implementation of large scale communications systems for cities, counties, states, and private entities.

He was raised in Solomon's Lodge in 1964, and upon moving to northern Baltimore County, he transfered his membership to Charity Lodge in the mid 80s in order to enter their Line; becoming their W. M. in 1992. Later, when plural membership became a reality, he became a plural member of Solomon's 121, the Lodge he was raised in.

He was appointed Deputy Grand Lecturer in 1993, then Deputy Grand Lecturer at Large in 1999, eventually becoming Grand Lecturer in May of 2004. In 1998 he was appointed W. Sr. Grand Deacon, and in 2000 he was elected R.W. Sr. Grand Warden. In Nov. of 2004 he was elected Deputy Grand Master and in November of 2006 he was elected M.W. Grand Master.

M.W. Brother Biggs is a Scottish Rite member of the Valley of Baltimore in the Orient of Maryland , holding the rank and honor of 33°. He is a past Venerable Master of the Lodge of Perfection. He is a member of Druid Royal Arch Chapter, Baltimore Council and Maryland Commandery No. 1; a member of Baltimore Forest no. 45 of  the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, a member of Boumi Shrine, and an honorary member of Ali Ghan Shrine. He is an honorary P.M. of Jephthah Lodge No. 222 and Granite Lodge No.177 and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland.

He is Secretary of the Maryland State Police Alumni Assn., and a member of their Board.

He is an avid Corvette enthusiast, owning a 2000 Millennium Yellow convertible and a Torch Red 2004 Z06; he holds a first class commercial radio license, and the highest class Federal Communications Commission Amateur Radio License - K3SP. When he can find time he enjoys his sons and grandkids, landscaping, gardening, photography, computers and car shows.
